Gnocchi with Scallops in Galician Sauce

Pepus Variegated Scallop in Galician Sauce

Pepus Variegated Scallop in Galician Sauce is one of my favorite tinned seafoods. First of all, variegated scallops are just delicious in every way, fresh or preserved! The texture of the meat from these cans is supple and still has a moderate chew, making it a suitable protein to cook in a dish or to just eat by itself. The Galician sauce especially has a nice umami flavor that’s perfect for bread or other starches to soak up. I particularly like this dish paired with another “chewy” element that is gnocchi. Don’t even need pasta sauce with this! The oil and sauce from the can provide more than enough flavor. Just add some greens and another protein such as shrimp, and you’ve got a nice hearty meal.
